This model also includes a small built-in cutter that can be used to cut the rolls into the appropriate sizes.
One benefit of having the rolls versus the precut bags is that you can ensure you have the properly sized storage for your food item, without wasting any excess material. The rolls will also allow you to learn exactly how much excess material you need on each side for sealing. SLAOUWO recommends that you leave a little less than 2 inches on each side so there is adequate room for a strong seal.

It also has a normal and gentle mode that will help in vacuum sealing solid or loose items, respectfully. It also has a dry and moist setting that will help in preventing spills when vacuum sealing wet foods. You can use O2 absorbers with vacuum seal bags but it seems silly so long as your vacuum sealer works properly.
On the upside, vacuum sealed meat can last well over a year in the freezer and be just as good as the day you packaged it. No freezer burn, no wasted money! I am not saying it cannot be done but generally speaking, most people use mylar bags and O2 absorbers for dried good storage. From personal experience, even the 7 mil mylar bags got brittle in the cold and when shifted around in the freezer, got a hole in it.
Like it was stated above, storing pinto beans for 15 years in a vacuum seal bag is not the best option. Mylar bags are the ones you want to use for longer term storage. Also, because you are using O2 absorbers, you will remove more air and oxygen from the inside of the bags which increase storage times. They will form a tight brick that can be stored in a cool, dark, and dry place for decades.
Matt, I had a similar idea, but am wondering if the order of bagging should be reversed. What about taking your idea and switching the order? Vacuum seal the food and an oxy absorber in the Food Saver bag, then place this bag inside the Mylar and seal it as usual. Just trying to think out of the box… or in this case, the bag.
OffGridGeeks on youtube found a simple solution also. The mylar bag MUST be sealed to prevent oxygen from seeping in.
Food Saver bags and any other plastic bags will allow oxygen to seep in over time. The whole reason mylar bags have a layer of metal is because it provides a barrier that oxygen cannot penetrate. Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers to absorb oxygen trapped in the bag is the best way to store foods long term, much better than plastic food saver bags.
I use food saver bags for longer term frozen foods, but for longer term room temp storage mylar is best. I have foodsaver bags with dry hearbs, grains, etc sealed more than 10 years ago and they still hard as a brick. The plastic bag does not allow the air in. Is just a myth. Once you have obtained a good seal on the bag, pulling a vacuum on the contents is easy. This can be either a regular vacuum pump, a vacuum sealer such as the Tilia Food Saver or even the suction end of your household vacuum cleaner.
The end inserted into the bag will need to be of fairly small diameter in order to keep the hole in the Mylar from being any larger than necessary. After sealing all four sides of the bag, cut a hole into the Mylar bag on a corner. Make the opening only just large enough to admit the vacuum probe. Insert the nozzle and using a sponge, or something similar, push down on the material over the probe to make a seal. Now draw down a vacuum on the bag. It will probably only take a second or two.
I have found a great source of food grade plastic buckets. Since finding I could get buckets I have gotten wheat, corn and beans at avoided cost from a farmer friend. Otherwise, you risk the oxygen absorbers absorbing too much outside air and not being able to absorb all the oxygen in your mylar bag. Tip: Before you open your oxygen absorbers, mark each mylar bag with how many oxygen absorbers the bag needs. This will make sealing much faster.
Proper heat equals a good seal which is essential to protecting your long-term food. Mylar bags were designed to be sealed with a clamshell heat sealer or an impact heat sealer.
If you don't have one of those then a flat iron or hair straightener should work. Tack the mylar bag with the flat iron in the top center.
Next, tack it a couple more times. Then simply slide the flat iron across the top until its completely sealed. Gently squeeze the bag to see if there is any air escaping. If so, use the flat iron again until it is completely sealed. Most household clamp-style vacuum sealers will not seal standard mylar bags; most commercial vacuum sealers can seal them.
There are workarounds that can be found online to vacuum seal your mylar bags. Wait at least one day.
